CHARLOTTE IRENE KAZLAUSKAS

CHARLOTTE IRENE KAZLAUSKAS 64, of Corinth, Mississippi, passed away in her home on Thursday, February 14, 2019. She was born April 24, 1954 in Chicago, Cook County, IL, the daughter of the late Balys and Josephene Brazdzionis.

She married Bernardas Kazlauskas and together they owned and operated Spirit Tomes and Treasures. Charlotte also owned a deli called the Talman Deli on 69th Street in Chicago.

Charlotte was very active, working at WGN Channel 9 and also as a nurse at Saint Anthony’s Hospital in Indiana. She was a member of the Lithuanian Scouts Association and the Lithuania student fraternity sorority Korp! NeoLithuania. Charlotte also served as the seniune (Chief Priest) of North America of the Lithuanian Baltic religion Romuva.

She is survived by a daughter, Alena (Scott) Borchert; a son, Algis Kazlauskas; grandchildren: Samuel and Cadence Borchert; brother-in-law, Romuald (Carol) Kazl; nieces and nephew, Cassandra and Persephane Kazl, and Alexander Kass.

Preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Anna and Leonas Kazlauskas; and brother-in-law, Alvidas Kass.

A Memorial Service for Charlotte will be held from 5 p. m. to 8 p. m., Friday, April 5, 2019 at the First Unitarian Church of Hobart located at 497 Main Street in Hobart, Indiana. Inurnment will be at 11 a. m., Saturday, April 6, 2019 in St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery, located at 4401 West 111th St, Chicago IL 60655. Everyone will gather in the front building at the cemetery.

As a Lithuanian tradition, family and friends may choose to bring flowers or memorial contributions may be made in Charlotte’s name to the family.
